Sooooooooooooo. I guess I made some big step in improving my wednesday morning bio lecture attendance, I’m actually here after the lecture during that bloody one hour break blogging. Hahahaha.
I think the current Melb U system (or rather the system all along) is rather different than the one in the UK, namely Imperial Coll, yes no maybe? We conclude everything semester by semester, what subjects you see above won’t be there anymore after those respective dates. And somehow you guys conclude year by year? Tak tahu really, but I do feel a bit like eheh kononnya betul you can shunt that subject out of your system after one semester. Although of course they’d give you the same bullshit saying you’re expected to still know them and the subsequent subjects would be built on these basics. Sheesh. No throwing out the currently-still-non-existent notes then.
They discontinued Cashmere Mafia. =( =( =( but I’m getting my grey’s addison episode today! Whooopeee.
Somehow, my current playlist is a bit the weird, starting with Benny and the Jets – Elton John (reminder courtesy of 27 dresses); followed by Evermore’s Light Surrounding You; some Alison Krauss; L-O-V-E Nat King Cole (haha so misplaced I know); 4 minutes to Save the World – Madonna ft Justin; Always be My Baby – David Cook; ends with Distance – Neverending White Lights (<3 grey’s <3). Losing my mind anyone thinks?

you’re in Melb U taking Biomedical Science or Biotech?
I’m working my ass off to maintain my 80% average to get into Melb, unfortunately only can transfer to Biotech and not Biomed.
I think different places different system la, but I would like to continue on our system lorh, after that one sem then dat’s it, the end of watever it is that we have to study lol
yep totally. one sem’s worth of stuff is long enough to be torturous. :P
i’m doing Biomedicine here, which was previously called Biomedical Science, same thing la.
i guess it was pretty easy for me to get into these courses given the 4As in A levels, except medicine of course. that faggot representative said i would still have my medicine application considered even if i confirmed my biomed place but apparently it wasn’t. but i guess it’s a blessing in disguise la i’m not sure if i want to pursue a career as a doctor yet anyway. :)
you’re twinning? where?
INTI Penang lorh.
I wish Melb U has set a slightly lower entry requirement lorh, the 80% average is driving me nuts!
Melb U very picky la, according to my college university placement office they should be able to accept me into Biomed, but problem is, they won’t give me a blanket exemption for the subjects I’ve taken here, so no point transfer like that la.
Then again, I’m not sure I wan to work in a medical field la, I’m just getting a science degree for the sake of a science degree ls. More career options next time as far as I can see.
Truth be told I’m more of an office person but oh well, you can never go wrong with a science degree and go on for an MBA.
Hey, may I request permission to link you?
weh, you think you need permission? :P it’s not a private blog or anything. haha.
well i guess for the uni’s prestige u gotta make some sacrifices, but you’ll have to evaluate whether those sacrifices are worth it in the long run or not. Just like Imperial, you literally get white hairs and panic attacks just because you’re there studying their course. Learning to be thankful la, get a good uni, enjoy your years, don’t have to be on top of the world to get a good life after.
i sendiri am not so sure where i’m going with this degree path also, Mba is one option, honours is scary, phd is too psycho, Mbbs is a shaky pathway for a girl (so my mum says) and also for economical purposes. Healthcare seems interesting but intimidating as well, so I guess it’s one step at a time.
some people are quite sensitive about being linked weih
yeah, actually the main reason I wanna get into Melb U is not the prestige la but because of the location. I’ve been wishing to go to Melb for my degree because I like the place, my relatives are there, I know people there so on and so on. Of course I’ve got another choice la, INTI twins to Swinburne no problemo but it’s like some relatively unknown uni back here so you come back n tell them “I’m from Swinburne” tell will go “huh?”
I did twinning for quite a number of reasons la, too long to write here lol but to put it in short I still like to stay in Penang longer for another number of reasons and to save my dad a sum of money oso la
So basically that’s the idea la
Yea MBBS is not good for a girl la, bad on family life n all bla bla bla.
*yawn* I’m off to bed, stayed up to try to finish as much as I can on a lab report bout evolution lol
haha i guess i’m thankful i don’t have classes on saturday, but no one has class here on saturdays anyway. :P
i think swinburne’s just a few train stops away from the city. Nearer to Melbourne CBD compared to Monash if you really wanna weigh the pros. hehe.
i guess melb is nice. too many asians/malaysians sometimes. not that i’m complaining, but narrows down your social circle much? but anywhere we are we’d click with international/malaysian students much better so i guess no room for rants there as well. =D
do tell me when you’re like coming to whichever uni. =)
yea the last time I was in Melb I did see Swinburne from the train on my way back to my relatives, who stay in Zone 2. I heard monash is somewhere out somewhere lol quite far away.
Oh well, we’ll see how things go, Melb U is my primary aim larh lol
And don’t worry, for sure I will tell you when i’m coming and to which uni, got extra fren who don’t want?
lucky you! me exams end on the 27th! which gives me time to study but also plenty of time to procrastinate! haha
